Piercing age policy

18 and up: Any piercing
15 - 17: Ears, facial, navel (with parent)
Any age: Ear lobe and single cartilage (with parent)
Any minor piercing (except ear lobe and single cartilage) requires that the parent provide a VALID state issued PHOTO ID, military ID, passport, or resident alien card. The minor also MUST have a VALID STATE issued PHOTO ID , military ID, passport, or resident alien card. School or work ID's WILL NOT be accepted. The last name and address of the minor and guardian MUST match or a legal document (birth certificate, marriage license, divorce papers etc) showing the relationship with names that match the ID's MUST be brought in at the time of the piercing. There is no way for us to know exactly what forms you need, no two circumstance are the same. These are not our rules, but the counties. AS OF JULY 1, 2010, IT IS ILLEGAL TO TATTOO ANY MINOR WITH OR WITHOUT PARENTAL PERMISSION BY ANYONE - ANYWHERE IN THE STATE OF MINNESOTA

18 and up:
We CAN tattoo provided you bring in a proper form of ID. The allowable ID's are listed below. NO ID, NO TATTOO.

11.3 Before performing any body art procedure on any client, the technician must request proof of age which must be established by one of the following forms of identification:
1. A valid driver's license or identification card issued by the State of Minnesota, or other state, and including the photograph and date of birth of the person; 2. A valid military identification card issued by the United States Department of Defense;
3. A valid passport;
4. A valid resident alien card.

11.3.1 No technician may tattoo a minor except with the written permission of both parents including custodial and non-custodial parents, in accordance with Minnesota Statutes Section 609.2246 (see below)

11.3.2 No technician may pierce a minor without the written permission from a custodial parent given in person at the establishment.

11.3.3 Nipple and genital piercing or tattooing on minors is prohibited regardless of parental consent.

Minnesota Statute: 609.2246 Tattoos; minors.
Subdivision 1. Requirements. No person under the age of 18 may receive a tattoo unless the person provides written parental consent to the tattoo. The consent must include both the custodial and non-custodial parents, where applicable.

Subdivision 2. Definition. For the purposes of this section, "tattoo" means an indelible mark or figure fixed on the body by insertion of pigment under the skin or by production of scars.

Subdivision 3. Penalty. A person who provides a tattoo to a minor in violation of the section is guilty of a misdemeanor.
