I would be the owner and main slacker at Captive.  There have been some changes since that picture was taken (1972).  I started Captive Elements around 1994, making jewelry and selling it on the web and to local shops and stores.  In July 1997, I opened the first shop at 36th and East Lake St. in Minneapolis.  At that time it was one piercer and myself sharing about 650 square feet.  In December of 1998 we decided to bring in a tattoo artist.  I had known Garrett for a couple years and he was the only artist I would be willing to have working with us.  By now there were two piercers, Garrett and myself in the same small space, we really needed to move.

In November 2000 we moved from Minneapolis to Blaine (about 20 minutes north).  This new shop is around 2600 square feet which was great.  After moving we added a another artist and an expanded retail area.

After the move I quit making jewelry.  So now I just try to stay out of the way and let the professionals work.

Personal info:

I'm old and everyone says I'm crabby.  My interests away from work are motorcycles, wood working, stained glass, collecting weapons and really bad movies.  At this time I own two motorcycles, a 1981 HD Sportster (I built in back in 85) and a 2006 Street Glide.

More personal stuff, I've been married twice, divorced twice and happily single for the last 12 years.  I have 4 kids, and 4 grandkids with one more on the way.  In the summer I try to spend as much time as possible riding.  The picture on the right was taken during Sturgis 2005.
